Digital Forensics Analyst

Nicholas “Nick” Schlacter is a digital forensics analyst with over 14 years of law enforcement experience in the Greater New Orleans area. Nick has been qualified as an expert and has provided testimony in the fields of Mobile Device Analysis and Vehicle Infotainment System Forensics. He also holds advanced digital forensics certifications, including the Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) and Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME). Nick has examined more than 1000 mobile devices, computers, external storage devices, vehicle infotainment systems, and other digital media to support a wide range of criminal investigations.

Nick’s extensive law enforcement background strengthens his digital forensics skills. As a law enforcement officer, he gained training and hands-on experience in crisis intervention, marine urban search & rescue, high-water vehicle operations, narcotics undercover operations, mobile surveillance, dynamic entry and search warrants, airport interdiction, extradition, and maritime interdiction.

Nick’s formal education includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee and advanced courses in Computer Science at the University of New Orleans.

Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs, as well as reading, cooking, and attempting to grow a vegetable garden.
